  1. About Novell Research

  3. Novell Research is a program through which Novell publishes technical
  4. information about designing, implementing, and managing NetWare- and 
  5. UnixWare-based systems. Publications produced by Novell Research include 
  6. Novell Application Notes, Novell Research Reports, and Novell Developer Notes.
  7.  
  8. Novell Research publications are written by Novell consultants and
  9. engineers, with the help of outside industry experts when necessary.
  10. The information contained in these publications is based on lab
  11. research and actual field experience of the authors, covering topics
  12. in these main areas:

  15. o    Network management tactics
  16. o    NetWare internals and theory of operations
  17. o    Novell product implementation guidelines

  29. Novell Application Notes (formerly NetWare Application Notes)
  30.  
  31. Novell Application Notes (AppNotes) is published monthly by Novell. Each 
  32. issue contains several articles that address different aspects of working 
  33. with NetWare, including design, implementation, development, and optimization.
  34. The material is based on technical research performed by Novell personnel.

  36. Novell Research Reports

  38. Novell Research Reports are in-depth treatments of key technical
  39. issues such as network backup and security. These reports also
  40. represent technical research performed by Novell personnel. 
  41. Cooperative research projects are planned for topics of general
  42. interest for which Novell cannot produce strategic research without
  43. outside assistance.

  45. Novell Developer Notes

  47. Novell Developer Notes is published bimonthly for members of Novell's
  48. Professional Developers' Program (PDP). Each issue contains articles on
  49. various aspects of network software development, including AppWare,
  50. Visual AppBuilder, Software Development Kits, Novell APIs, and so on. To
  51. receive Developer Notes, join the PDP by calling 1-800-NETWARE (1-800-
